Exporting a workpaper

Written by Marco Fiumara

Use this article to export a completed workpaper from Cimplico Workpapers as an offline, read-only copy.

You can only export a workpaper once it's certified and completed by its Approver. If the workpaper hasn't reached this stage yet, the Export button will be faded out and you won't be able to select it.

Why export a workpaper

Cimplico Workpapers keeps your completed work in the system in read-only mode, so you can revisit it later or reference files in future or related jobs. However, you may still want to export a completed workpaper to keep an offline copy for record-keeping purposes.

How to export a workpaper

  1. Open the workpaper.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Select the Export Configuration tab. Here you can set your export preferences to include what you need.

  4. Click Export.

  5. Wait for the export to finish.

  6. Click Download to save your export.

Export file format

Workpapers export as a PDF, with a zip folder containing any files that couldn't be embedded into the PDF. Excel files and encrypted PDFs can't be embedded, for example, so these are included in the zip folder instead.

The exported file is named using the period end date and the workpaper name.
