An entity’s type refers to its legal structure (e.g., company, trust, partnership). If you need to update this, you can update it directly in Cimplico Workpapers. However, if your entity is connected to Xero, we recommend updating it in Xero first to ensure consistency across your systems.

Updating the entity type for Xero entities

To keep your data in sync, update the entity type in Xero first and then refresh the details in Cimplico Workpapers.

  1. Update the entity type in Xero within the organisation’s settings.

  2. In Cimplico Workpapers, go to Entity > Integrations > Xero > Refresh Details

  3. Cimplico Workpapers will pull in the updated entity type from Xero.

This ensures the change is reflected correctly across both platforms.

Updating the entity type directly in Workpapers

If you need to update the entity type manually, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Entity Overview page.

  2. Select the Settings tab.

  3. In the Details section, locate Entity Type.

  4. Choose the correct entity type from the dropdown.

  5. Click Save to apply the change.
