Draft journals are a powerful feature in Cimplico Workpapers that enable you to fine-tune adjustments before committing them to a client’s file.

Why use draft journals?

  1. Ensure accuracy before posting

    • Draft journals allow you to test and review adjustments without immediately updating the client’s file. This ensures that all entries are accurate and complete before they are finalised, avoiding unnecessary corrections or confusion for the client.

  2. Enable team collaboration and learning

    • For junior team members or those with less experience creating journal entries, draft journals provide an environment to prepare journals without posting to the client's file.

    • You can adjust whether or not a preparer can post journals by editing the workpaper settings, see Editing Workpaper Settings.

  3. View impact of changes

    • When you utilise draft journals, both the original figure and amended figure is shown on the trial balance and within the worksheet
