Cimplico Workpapers is a system that allows for the preparation, review, and approval of compliance workpapers. But following approval, what happens?

Within Cimplico Workpapers, your completed work will persist in the system in a read-only mode, allowing users to revisit and refer back to when needed, as well as enabling data such as files to be referenced in future or related jobs. Additionally, if an audit occurs or someone outside of your organisation requires read access to a workpaper, you can invite them in as a guest, without the need for the job to leave Cimplico Workpapers.

Despite this, you may wish to run an export of completed workpapers to have an offline copy for record-keeping purposes. This article will walk you through configuring and running an export of a completed job in Cimplico Workpapers.

How to export

  1. Open a workpaper

  2. Go to the 'Settings' of the workpaper

  3. Navigate to the 'Export Configurations' tab. Here you will find your export settings which allow you to design your export to include whatever you need for your purposes.

  4. Click the 'Export' button

  5. Wait for the export to finish

  6. Download your export

๐Ÿ’ก Note

You can only export your workpaper when the job is complete and certified by your approver

What is the format?

Workpapers are exported in a PDF form with a zip folder of all files that were not able to be embedded into the PDF. For example, Excel and encrypted PDFs cannot be embedded into the export PDF.

The file name is made up of the period end date and the name of the workpaper.
