Junior staff are typically assigned the User role at the firm level in Cimplico Workpapers, allowing them to log in, access workpapers, and complete assigned tasks without accessing sensitive administrative or management functions.

Junior staff are typically assigned the role of Preparer at the workpaper level. This role ensures they can:

  • Prepare worksheets and fill in required details.

  • Ask their reviewer questions using internal comments for clarification.

  • Start collating client queries in the appropriate sections.

  • Complete their preparer procedures as part of the workflow.

  • Tick off checklist items as they complete them.

However, Preparers cannot:

  • Review worksheets or schedules

  • Approve the overall workpaper or mark it as finalised.

This setup is designed to empower junior staff to focus on learning and completing key tasks while providing a safety net to prevent premature approvals or missed reviews.

ℹ️ Note: For each workpaper, you can choose whether Preparers are allowed to post journals directly to the client file. This gives you the flexibility to adjust permissions based on how experienced the junior staff member is.
