Users can reset their own Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), or Firm Administrators can reset MFA for other users.
Resetting your own MFA
If you can still log in but want to reset your MFA:
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
Select Profile.
Under the Profile tab, find the Reset Multi-Factor Authentication section.
Click Reset MFA and confirm the Reset
You will be logged out and required to set up MFA again.
ℹ️ Note: This method is only for users who can still access their account but need to change their MFA set up. If you don't have access to your current authentication method and are completely locked out, you'll need to have your firm administrator reset your MFA for you.
Resetting MFA for another user (administrators only)
If a user cannot log in because they have lost access to their MFA, a Firm Administrator must reset it for them.
Click the cog icon in the top-right corner.
Select Users.
Find and select the relevant user.
Go to the Actions tab.
Under the Reset Multi-Factor Authentication section, click Reset MFA and confirm the Reset.
The user will be logged out and required to set up MFA again when they next log in.
ℹ️ Note: MFA reset for yourself or another user is not available for Xero logins. Users logging in via Xero must manage their MFA settings within Xero itself.
