When replacing a file in Cimplico Workpapers, a pop-up will appear confirming the replacement. This pop-up includes an optional checkbox labelled ‘Rename all references of this file record.’

What happens when replacing a file?

  • Regardless of whether the checkbox is selected, replacing the file will update the original file and all the references associated with it across the workpaper.

  • Selecting the checkbox ensures the name of the file is also updated for all references.

Example Scenario

If you originally have a file named ‘Stock Report - Draft ’, which is attached to a worksheet and referenced in several others, and you replace it with ‘Stock Report - Final’:

  • Without selecting the checkbox, the references will still point to the updated file, but they will retain the old name (‘Stock Report - Draft’).

  • By selecting the checkbox, all references will update to display the new name (‘Stock Report - Final’).
